I love the orchestral feel to the song: The choir, the brass sounding instruments, and the pitch bending are all fantastic. The song is pretty fluid with pleasant chord changes.

The reason I only gave 4 stars is because like most songs, it's not perfect. The intro had some pretty harsh sound tearing at around 16 seconds in to 20 seconds. I'm not sure if it's intentional or not, but it can be solved usually very easily by lowering the amplitude of the instrument or using a limiter. Also I know this is opinionated but the ending didn't really live up to the rest of the song. The ending sounded a little dissonant and abrupt; nowhere near as epic as the rest of the song. Anyway that's all I have to say besides practice makes perfect!

ZLEAP responds:

The tearing was very much intentional. Keep in mind that this is musical interpretation of my own madness. And there is nothing comforting about it.

As for the ending, That's never been one of my strengths. You're right to say practice makes perfect. And I've still got a bit of practicing to do.

Thanks.

I would say parts of the song might be good for meditation or something, but then other parts are too intense for that. No offense but the song lacks direction. It's interesting at points but a lot of times there's not even a rhythm. That said I like the sound of the instruments, but you need to work on how to actually arrange them to sound more fluid. Another thing is that a typical song will have several instruments playing at one time through most of the song. You need more layers of instruments to fill in the soundless gaps. Practice makes perfect!

Loved the original song. Like this song a lot. Not perfect, but still awesome!

I love the chord progression. The background synth adds a lot to it, and not to mention the guitar and drums are well played. I always love it when people use real instruments. I would, but I have some cheap microphone used mainly for chatting. If you have any good suggestions for mics throw one at me. Great work!

Adam-Salada responds:

Thank you.

5 stars because it was unique. The beginning sets the atmosphere pretty well. I wish you guys had the equipment for a proper punk/grunge music band because you guys would have the potential, but I know it'd be hard to afford it all given your financial conditions. Best of luck...

Silo99 responds:

Thanks, I came up with it sitting alone, getting high and drinking beer (fitting right? hah) =) and yes it would much nicer to have better equipment but right now we use Turtle Beach headphones for recording on my computer but originally we were recording using a mic to record to a 4 track that James owns. we wanted to have a cassette of this music as well when we are done. Please review and rate other songs if you want to. I'm trying to get these songs out there as much as possible. Thanks for the review

There's some good talent here! Once again, impressive! ...but why u no add more reverberation 2 voice??? Maybe it wouldn't sound as well as I thought it would, but anyway best of luck with future songs or any gigs you may encounter!

Alright, I have to admit I didn't think this song would be great just listening to the intro. What bad practice, I know, but I like to make the beginning give a preview of what's to come or give a setting/theme for the rest of the song. Needless to say, I as NOT disappointed when I continued to listen. It reminds me of some really good keygen music if you know what I'm talking about.

I absolutely love the creativity you've put into this, reading the backstory. It's an original mesh of different song styles with one leading repeating melody, which is very catchy by the way. The middle part where it breaks into a sort of dubstep style and a different beat is cool. You have a great chord progression going on there too. We need more artists like you here. Way to go man.

TheKeyboardGuy responds:

Thanks for the review man! I didn't know what keygen music is, so I looked it up and found the Crack Intro Wikipedia page, which led me to reading about the Demo Scene. Thanks for leading me to that, I'm actually really interested!

I'm diggin' this! It reminds me of Daft Punk a little ways through the song which is never a bad thing. Maybe the voice is sustained a little too long sometimes. Synth voices (if that's what it is) don't sound that great when held out for long periods of time. I like the chord progression. It makes for a nice electro-disco/dance song. I think a few notes sounded a bit off in the 3rd part of the chord progression, but otherwise, groovy!

I hate to rate this low, because I really like the chord progression in this song. It's a driving progression of both melancholy and suspicion that just clicks, but I have a thing against repetitious songs. If you just added a melody to it I would like it a lot more. I can't blame you too much though. It is a video game song after all.

I dunno man. I liked it at first. The tone of the really fast oscillating sound was a little irritating at first, but the "vrrrrRRRRRRR" thing sounds way out of place around 42 seconds in. It has an interesting scale, with some good rhythm though.
